The research for writing and illustrating this graphic novel included a vast set of references – memoirs, diaries, official documents, and studies written by historians who
specialized in the life of the Romanov dynasty. Nevertheless, its major source of inspiration lies in The Romanov Royal Martyrs: What Silence Could Not Conceal,a book printed at the Mesa Potamos Monastery in Cyprus.
